What do you mean by period is open...You might have many open periods but the period (oct 2011) should be open to create a job..you cant even create a job if its in future period.

In status put release and press tab in your key board.
Dont try to save the record but just move to the job history tab.
Check the released date populated by system.
That date should be in an open period.
remember u need to check the date before saving the record.
I am sure its just the period issue. the inventory period is not open..nothing else

Try to give the Release date as open period date then change the status then cange the status as "Release" then press the tab after that save the transaction.

Job is in Unreleased status.

We were able to release the similar jobs but some of them we are having this issue.

We are getting this error for one or two jobs. Unable to figure out.
Periods are open. Please let me know if you can think of anything else.
